Lions support defib at Port Giles

THE Lions Club of Stansbury Dalrymple has shown its support for the wider community by purchasing a cardiac defibrillator for the Port Giles silo complex.

“At the start of harvest, the club became aware of the need for a defibrillator at Port Giles, and the fact Viterra staff had started fundraising through activities and collecting donations from contactors and truck drivers,” Lions member Ron Duncan said.

“As it was going to take more than one harvest to raise the money, we discussed the issue with the staff and Lions decided to purchase one immediately so it was available during the silos’ busiest time of the year.
